    New BP mom
Hi everyone, I am so glad I found you all! I am the proud mama to a young normal BP. She was rescued by way of our local rescue group (a really wonderful organization) and we've had her for about a week now. She has been doing fine and has a wonderful temperament. I am looking forward to meeting you all and to learning more about these fascinating creatures.

To tell you briefly a little more about myself, I have raised German Shepherd Dogs for a long time now and my very patient and tolerant hubby and I compete with our dogs in obedience and agility. Ella is our first reptile though and it will be an adventure.

    Nice to meet you all!

:welcome:to BP.net and congratulations on your arrival into the world of Ball Pythons. There is a wealth of knowledge packed into this website. There are care sheets that you can read through to learn good husbandry practices. If you are looking for a topic in particular, there is a "Search" function located in the dark blue header at the top of the page. That will let you read through thousands of threads on just about every aspect of Ball Pythons and keeping them, from setting up an enclosure, to respiratory infections, to the shedding process, to snake farts. Since you have such a strong dog background, there is a subsection for dog talk as well. The most important thing you need to know about BP.net is...

We like to see photos... :D

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I can already tell these snakes are addicting - I want another one already but I'm afraid to mention that to my hubby, lol... ;) Ella is still doing great and it's fun to watch her normal behaviors - she's created "tracks" in the cypress mulch where she likes to travel and she has a favorite hide behind one of the big leaf plants at the back of her enclosure (she doesn't much care for her hide box - she likes the plant better). Hope to get some good pictures soon - she's entering a shed so I'll take some nice ones once she's done with that...

    'Til later...
