Is my snake developing good manners?
Hey Forum
So this evening,, after I fed my snake, it did something...I will say peculiar. Once I put it back in its tank, it did something I will describe as "wiping its mouth," i.e rubbed its mouth (specifically) on furniture for about 30 seconds, then stopped and went back into its hide.
I don't know. Does this mean anything? Is my snake finally developing good manners after all that time trying to teach it good etiquette? Does it have a horrible oral disease? Is it just keeping me on my toes? Has anyone seen this before?
Thank you for your time. ;D

Hi,
Had you just fed it?
Is it due to shed?
Did it leave any kind of sticky residue behind when it did it?

Re: Is my snake developing good manners?
It probably had some hair or leftover residue from the food on his mouth.
Or he was just trying to realign his jaw in a weird way.

Doh,
Missed the feeding bit in your post.
I really should sleep more.

It probably just had a bit of rat fuzz on its mouth. Or maybe he just itched.
Re: Is my snake developing good manners?
Nothing special. But if it asked for a napkin, then you'd have something. ;)

awesome, thanks everyone. :D
Re: Is my snake developing good manners?
it prolly had some trouble getting its jaw back in line right. my girls jaw was all weird lookin and yawning didnt fix it so she just rubbed it on everything for a while
Re: Is my snake developing good manners?
My snakes do that when they get a bit of aspen in their mouth.
Especially my big Kingsnake boy, he always gets it in his mouth because he just takes it so aggressively LOL.
