    Raleigh show very disappointing IMO
I know that it is early to be selling babies as far as a show is concerned, but this show was very disappointing to me this time around. It was only like 60% full tablewise. Pretty sad when the coolest thing to look at was the monkey :rolleye2: Even the body language from the vendors was like jeez where is everyone.

That's not good for us herpers! I imagine if it kept goin' that way eventually the promo's could pull the plug on even having another one. Perhaps it's the economy?

The Tucson show here fortunately for us is growing.

This is a quiet time of year for ball pythons. Breeders are largely sold out and new babies are just beginning to hatch. Combine that with the absurd number of shows on the east coast and you get lower attendance from vendors and customers. The latter makes for shows of increasingly poor quality.

In order to make trade shows consistently cool again both vendors and customers have to stop supporting every trade show that gets added to the schedule. Things are at a breaking point. Some trade shows simply need to go away while others need to dramatically decrease in frequency.

You've got a good point Colin.
Still though I am pretty disapointed the Chesapeake Show didn't make it. It sure would have been nice to have a expo in the Hampton Roads area:(
We have enough good breeders in the area.

It' one thing to be slim pickings on BP this time of year, but it was pretty bare on everything in general. I think there was only like 2 Bearded Dragon setups, and all of the big name tables didn't show. I thought that was a little concerning. Unless everyone had a great season and was sold out, That would be the best case reasoning for the small turnout.

We have our local show in Columbus, Ohio every month. Vendors and customer wise it does pretty good. The tables are always filled. And a nice amount of people come. Not as big as your bigger shows tho.

we had a small show in my area this weekend and vendor wise it was not great but luckily for me and my business partner Sean from Exotics by Nature and Tim Bailey from Bailey & Bailey Reptiles where there. between me and my partner we came home with a pastel yb, an orange ghost, a mojave, a pastel and 3 normal babies. and my daughter came home with a tortoise.

Colin did you make it out to this show? I hardly ever go to the May show in Raleigh, the August show is the time this show fills out.

Just got back from a show in Mobile, AL- TINY! Had nothing to do this weekend so we decided to drive down and it had less than ten vendors (a few great ones, though), and one really creepy guy... I won't mention names. I'll save my gas money and stick to the Repticons from now on!

At the gun show next door. My body language was tired, after that creepy clown kept messing with me for half the morning. Once he found out I hate clowns, to him it was "game on." I was glad when people started showing up with their kids and he left to go play with his balloons... :rage:

Even though the turnout was low on both sides, it was still cool to meet some of the other BP.netters. I got to meet BullsBP today as well as MitsuMike and Modean yesterday...
