Dr. Zoidberg finally fired up
Gawd I swear this guy has fired up for me three, maybe four times since February. He's worth it though :D I think he might even be fresh shed, he was certainly looking dull for the past few days.

His QT period has come and gone and I've started introducing him to my neon yellow female with a slight tiger pattern, hoping to produce strongly colored near-patternless (I'm happy with bi-colors and tigers) geckos in the yellow-orange-pink-red spectrum. So far he hasn't shown much interest when I'm around, but I know my girl was laying inferts when she came out of cooling. I don't know anyone else who has done a similar pairing, so I can't wait to see what pops out. It might be dud brown buckskins, it might be fantastic. Either way, I'm raising up some even more fantastic reds that so far don't show any pores, so I should get some A+ red gecko production next season.

Great lookin Rhac. I LOVE orange! this may seem like a dumb question ( hell it might be lol) but what time of day do they fire? I can see the color differnce in my Rhac's , but I dont think I've seen any kinda of color like that from them..

Very nice, reds are my favorite. :gj:
Zeke, they most often fire up at night when they are active. It usually has to be dark in order for this to happen (i.e., it could be night time, but if you have the lights on they probably won't come out and be active and get fired up). And if you don't have a red crested, you won't see that particular color when your gecko fires up. The intensity of the color varies as well--there are dull reds, intensely bright reds and everything in between.

Gorgeous boy there! One day I'll get a nice pair of reds or really bright yellows.. one day :D
Don't feel bad, my favorite crestie girl Nabby is almost impossible to get fired up. ;)
