    New Here with a Normal
Hey all, I have a normal ball python and really loving him. Only he just won't eat at the moment. He smells the food but then say..."forget it" I'm soooo tempted in getting him gerbils as it's been 4 weeks :-( I had a red tail boa a long time ago on live feed without a problem but moved out of the country.

Looking to expand on my royals because they don't get that big and I love the variety in colours etc. :-)

    Hi and welcome.

Regarding your BP my best advice is that no matter what, avoid feeding gerbils, changing prey type is rarely the answer especially a prey type like a gerbil which is very "addictive", very costly and very aggressive.

Depending on the age of your snake fasting can be a normal thing, it can also be linked to husbandry or stress issue.

The best thing you can do is give us a little more detail regarding your snake, size, age, enclosure size, hides, temps, thermometer used, handling schedule, feeding schedule etc, so we can help you see if there is anything you can to to help your animal resume feeding.

If your BP was eating previously he will again.

Welcome! One thing you'll learn here is that ball pythons going off feed is not something to worry about. It's just annoying. :)
