    boa morph experts, attention pls!
I just got this little girl, a 6 month old common boa. The breeder sold her as a normal. Her dad was at the show and looked normal, very dark. Apparently her mother is extremely light and the 2 have produced a few very pink light babies including one that looked like a salmon. To me my girl looks like some kind of morph. her saddles are light and brown and she is very pink all over. I think she looks like a patel or maybe even salmon but I am not experienced in identifying boa morphs. What do you think she look like.
    here is Eclipse

I'd say she's just a very light colored normal. If she were a salmon, her saddles would lack a lot more black... if she was sold as a normal, my guess is that's what she is... but nothing wrong with a pretty normal girl with a lot of pink to her! It will be neat to see if she keeps the pink :) Nice purchase.

Ill have to take some better pics with better lighting, thise pics were taken on the table at the show on just a piece of paper. She is way pinker in person. She also changes color through the day, sometimes so light that there is almost no black. Either way I would love to eventually breed her to a salmon. I think they would make some wicked babies.

Very nice boa. Not a salmon/hypo but you could call it a "pastel."

Unlike with ball pythons, pastel is not really a "morph" for boas - it's just a term applied to nice high-contrast boas or boas that show a lot of pink coloration.

But a real pastel is a line of selectively bred animals, with a traceable lineage... at least it's supposed to be. Now it just seems to be a marketing term for a nice animal.

So sure, it's a pastel, or pastel-like boa. Really you just ended up with a very pretty normal.

That is an extemely good looking light colored boa, but not a hypo.
