Confused about BP eating, help?
Okay, so I know BP's can be picky eaters. I got him last January as a baby, never had a problem with him eating. Then, this November, he stopped. Finally about 3 weeks ago, HE ATE!!! I was ridiculously happy. BUT since then, he won't eat again. Should I be worried, or just wait it out a little bit longer?

Are you feeding it the same thing that the person you got it from was? As long as it doesn't seem to be drastically loosing weight, I would try and wait it out a little bit. You should not assist feed unless it is absolutely necessary.

Lets start here....
what are you feeding him
Where are you feeding him
What is your set up and temps
how old is he and what size is he

IMO it's most likely the season. He's at least a year old, so he could breed. I wouldn't worry about it. Unless your husbandry isn't right...

okay thanks, good questions:
1. Feeding small rats at the moment. I buy them live, then humanely put them out with CO2
2. Feeding in his tank.
3. 20 Gallon Long tank. Cypress Mulch. Temp on cool side ranges from 75-82ish depending on day or night. Temp on hot side from 90-95ish. 2 Hides, one on the cool side on on the hot side, they are like the half cave hides. One large water bowl to help keep up humidity which ranges from 50-60%
4. I can't say exactly how old, but he's over a year at the least as I have had him since last January. He is roughly 2.5-3feet long right now.

my next question would be...should I keep him on rats since he last ate one 2 or 3 weeks ago (again, that was the first time since November), or should I try to get him to take a mouse or even a hamsteR?
