Here is my old snake rack. Its just a bookshelf, I brought at a furniture store.
I brought plastic tubs, then Exo Terra Faunarium tubs, and then more tubs for my ever growing collection.
Been using this bookshelf for 2 years plus, if i recall correctly. And decided that, it time to go LID-Less.

Custom Wood Panel & Modified Wood Panel (from the existing bookshelf) to accomodate the tubs. There is a 3-inch attachement from the original shelf.

For the gap or clearance, i use a cotton bud with the buds cut off, and tape them to the tubs.
