Anyone ever use rope lights to light their enclosures. Specificly the plastic type ones. How did it wok out?

    Inside the enclosures?

I think rope lights get pretty hot, and could potentially burn your snake if they're the kind of lights I think they are.

I have not used them for herps but I did for something else. The standard ones do get hot really hot actually if left on for a long time (12 hours). They also turn a really odd brown colour as well that may be heat related. However there are LED rope lights avaliable they are not so common but they do not get hot and I *THINK* the brown colour was a product of heat as well I can't be sure of that but I think this to be likely. You might take a peek on-line for LED ones they may work for what ever you have in mind.
