questions about the IMG ball python morph???
first how much do they go for?

for the breeding, if you were to mate an img to a 100% het for albino what would you get? ( p.s. i know there is no way to get an albino from this)

    what does "img" stand for?

what would be an example of a best looking img?

thanks for any questions that are answered!!!!!

IMG stands for Increased Melanin Gene. I've never been into them so I never looked at pricing. Maybe someone else is up to speed on them or you could check KS.

IMG stands for "Increasing Melanin Gene".
This unusual genetic trait can manifest in several ways. Some hatchlings are born looking axanthic, but later develop color with increasing amounts of scattered melanin speckling. Others hatch looking normal, but later--at some random point in their life--will suddenly shed out and look axanthic, and then their color will also return slowly, with increasing black pigmentation.

What exact genetics behind this trait are not yet understood. It has been proven genetic, but it has not been shown to be dominant, co-dominant, nor a simple recessive.

If you bred an albino het to a IMG ball, you would wind up with 50% poss het albinos that might carry the IMG (or might not).
