    Male layin inverted ??
I woke up to my 09 male pastel laying inverted this moring is this normal?
He is in a 20 gal long with two hides cool side 78-80 hot side 90-92. Humidity is 55-60. Cypress mulch bedding. He has not ate for 37 days. He was on his hot side in his hid laying inverted. Should I be worried? He has not been used as a breeder either.

I can't say I've ever seen that happen. Sometimes a male can do this after they have been mating. I think it helps the hemipenes retract, but for an 09 male, I can't say I can help you. I would double check your temps with a heat gun.

Is the snake showing any other signs that may indicate he's distressed? If you can, watch him carefully and often.

    Good Luck!

No distress that I can tell. He has been acting normal. Nothing has changed since I got him in September. He is at breeding weight. I picked him up and he has now in his cool hide and laying correct. I will keep an eye on him. No signs of RI or anything.

A few weeks ago my 09 male lesser was laying inverted and it concerned me also. Haven't noticed any problems and haven't noticed him doing it since then. I've pretty much dismissed it as him being weird.

Very rarely I've seen males and females do that after eating a big meal. Or if they went off feed and then started sometimes they do that, I think to help digest.

The only other time I've seen it happen is after a male has been breeding for a while, since that's not your problem I'm not sure.

Keep an eye on him, but I'm sure he'll be fine.:)
