Disgusting males!

Well, I had my male leucistic Texas ratsnake "Zephyr" out on the mirror for some pics. He had just shed, and was gleaming white, so I thought, why not? Haven't photographed him in awhile. Well, he was a little uncooperative, and would not be still for a microsecond. Right before I put him back, he did "the nasty". He ejaculated? released fresh sperm plugs? right onto the mirror, and smeared it. And trust me,it's not urates, or poo, or anything like that.... I KNOW what this is. This is also not the first time this has happened to me. I had a male rosy boa a few years ago do the same exact thing. Geez. When I first pulled him out before our little photo shoot, I thought, "Wow Zephyr, you are one sexy snake!" Well, I have decidedly changed my mind on that one..:P Has anyone else ever come across this kind of incident? And why do they do that? I know it's probably a rare occurrence, but geez!

You're just a big tease to your male snakes. Stop it before you cause psycological issue for the poor boys! ;)

He is a sexy beast!

Those snakes are beautiful but can really be a pain. Some we got at the sanctuary always gaped their mouths open and stood up in the 'S' position. It was cute though:P

Maybe he ejaculated because he really wants to mate?

My corn snake does this when I try to photograph him sometimes. D: It has happened twice so far. I thought he was a female for 9 years, so when I first found the plugs it was quite a surprise.
