anyone ever had any issues with rat parasites?

have you ever been bitten by anything from your feeder rats?

I noticed some little bugs on one of my rat racks , I don't know what they are. They were very small , little black specks. I sprayed some nix solution all over the tanks after cleaning them and I haven't seen any since then , but I wasn't sure if it was going to work.

What kinds of parasites are ASF's , or rats in general, prone to having?
anything that will bite humans?

Sounds like maybe fleas?

I had some little critters once that would bite something horrid, they would crawl like in waistline of underwear, in socks, in your armpits and bite you over and over and over until you took a shower, then they were gone. It took feeding off nearly every rodent I had to get rid of them. Mainly due to the impossibility of treating them with chemicals that might effect the snakes. Still have no clue what they were but wouldn't wish them upon anyone... they suck!!

ive had those same bugs, but some on here do not agree with actual treatment. provent a mite does work on them but there is something better.
make sure you treat around the outside of your house or you could get them again.

yep diluted nix works wonders.
