    Won't Mate?
I just don't get it I have had my rats for around 3 weeks now and no signs of nipples pregnancy or even copulation. I do have a male (he has testicles) and 2 females (no testicles). All weigh in around 250 grams.
Live in a like 40 gallon tub with openings on side and top for ventilation. They are kept in a cabinet with a 75 watt lamp on for 12 hours on and 12 off. It's not a heat light just a normal light (only uses like 14 watts so doesn't get hot). They are fed doggie bag from Tractor supply 15 grams per rat. Water in a bottle and aspen bedding and once I change it on Tuesday it will be carefresh. Plenty of chew toys.
ONLY thing that I can think of is I have that cherry scent cat food looking can you buy at autozone of target to keep the smell down. Like an air freshener.
I also feed them some strawberrys and apples if they are to over ripe for me as a treat.
I stumped, help a brotha out. haha

It's actually pretty hard to catch them mating and you might have already witnessed it and not realized it. The male will just get on her for a second and walk off. It's very strange and it took me a long time to realize what was going on. I just figured it was magic.

Give it some time. Once in a while I'll have a female that takes a week or two to get pregnant. Your rats might very well be pregnant already and you just don't know it. It takes until the last week of their pregnancy for them to look like they ate a baseball.

Heck yea I want babies NOW! :taz: haha

And yea I think I have seen that. As long as I'm not doing anything wrong I guess I'll let nature take it's course.

    They'll get to it.

They really don't blow up in size until the last week.

They could be a week or two pregnant and you will have no idea.

I would give them food ab libitum, and be patient. 250 is not a big girl, she may take a little bit before they all get it on.

Is it possible that the Male rat is sterile?? Should I buy another male and see what happens?
