    females fighting over babies
    Ok so i have a rack system with 2 females in each birthing tubs. they had there babies about a week apart and 1 of them goes over 2 the other litter and steals a baby then that mom will try 2 take it back and play tug of war. seperate?

    almost the same issue i had except that only one gave birth. i took out the klepto and put her in another tub and put another prego one with the one that gave birth, basically swapped two out. i'll keep them like that and see what happens in the future.

    What you are experiencing is the reason why I now have each female in their own individual tubs to birth and until the babies are at least 10 days.

    The first 7 to 10 days are when the babies are the most vulnerable, and females fighting over them can cause serious injuries and/or death.

    My females are house individually during those first 7 to 10 days and than placed back together to raise their babies.

    While the loss is often minimal, it can still occur with communal birthing.
