Thinking about getting a ball. Will this work?
A friend of mine is wanting to sell his ball. He is about 4 years old and roughly 4 foot. I have had this cage I built for some degus I had for a while. But it's been sitting empty for a few months now. I know it's rather tall so it's not ideal for a ball but I was wondering if I could make it work. And if it could how could I keep the humidity and temps right? The size of it is 6Wx6Hx3D

I would say no. Too tall, would have trouble heating, and to big in general in my opinion. Other people will be able to go into detail about both though.

Also, unless the insides are sealed with something, the wood will rot.

Oh...wow! Well, even IF the ball python wasn't stressed out by that much space and even IF you could get the overall environment conditions proper and stable....it sure would be an awful lot of wasted space for a ball python.

I can think of some amazing animals to keep in an enclosure like that...and would find something smaller for my ball. ;)

Set it up for an adult carpet python or some other larger arboreal snake that would love the height

I could picture one happy Carpet Python in that sucker! I agree with Judy that it would be a ton of wasted space for a bp. If you could work out temp and humidity in that thing there are several cool species that would thrive in it.

At one point I had 3. I know the size is kinda overkill but I wanted them to have plenty of room to play around.
