Baby Ethiopian Cobras, and American Alligators...
I volunteer at my local herpetological association, it is a reptile shelter and we have a large number of animals, including venomous snakes and alligators and crocodiles. This last weekend I got to watch them feed our 2 ethiopian baby cobras, they are only about 7-8 inches maybe a little longer, and it was so amazing seeing these little miniature cobras act like full grown snakes, they were sitting up with their heads held high and showing us full hoods as well as striking the glass repeatedly, it was really insane seeing animals like this so close... I will also try to get pics for you guys next time I am at the shelter. We also got to go inside the gator pens now that it is warmer and feed them some raw chicken parts and giblets, it was amazing watching the big animals feed and take food off our tongs, the baby gator pen was my favorite though, as being surrounded by crowds of tiny little gators swarming all over for the food was surreal! Again next time I will get pics to post for you guys, I was just so excited I had to share the news with someone!

It is a wonderful feeling working with animals that you know few people get to work with. I have had the chance to work with timber wolfs and cougars and let me tell you, being in the cage with a live cougar is just indescribable. I can not wait to see your pictures. .

Very cool to hear. I'm glad you are so excited about it, shows your passion! I'd be thrilled to experience that just for a day. If you get to sharing pix, please post a link here for us to find them. Thanks!!

BTW, there is a lot of neat stuff in Ethiopia. Such as the bearded vultures I saw on the Life program last night off my dvr, they are beautiful creatures, smart tricks they have by taking bones from a carcass, dropping them on rocks from flight, then swooping in to eat the crushed bones. And their tuft of feathers under their beak, funny! Not to mention the delicious food the Ethiopians have... nom nom nom. So yeah, I'd certainly dig pix of the Ethiopian Cobras. :)
