    1/4" hardware cloth?
Accidentally bought 1/4" instead of 1/2" for my mouse/asf/rat tubs. Can this size be used to make a hopper, or will they have too much trouble getting at their blocks? I've got 1/2" green coated chicken wire, but the holes are round, so some of the food might fall through, but that would be better than them not being able to get at their food. Can I use the 1/4" stuff, or should I go with the 1/2" chicken wire?

    Thanks :)

For mice: use 1/4" hardware cloth. If you use the 1/2", the hopper mice can escape. They can eat through the 1/4" just fine. I think the 1/2" stuff would be fine if it was for a food hopper only, and would not allow access to the outside.

For rats: I've heard that rats can chew through 1/4" hardware cloth, so you'll want to use the 1/2" stuff.

    ASFs: Not sure.

Thanks, I used the 1/4" for anything were they might escape, the food hopper I might go buy 1/2" for, or maybe I'll just use the 1/4" :)
