Charcoal inside the enclosure?
I was away for a couple of days, my BP released urates, and stinked up the tub.... I already disinfected the tub with alcohol... but the stench is still there... Is it ok to put charcoal inside the tub to neutralize the stench?
Best,

Ok this is totally off the beaten path and you might think I am crazy. Take a juicy lemon....cut it in half......and rub it on the tub. Really work it in like you are scrubbing it clean with the lemon. Then clean it as normal. Lemons are known for nuetrilizing smells. ??? No idea if this will work but it is worth a try.

What are you using for substrate?
In my tubs that I use shavings in I still put paper in the bottom to make it easier to keep clean.
I would try the lemon trick to get the smell out, maybe use some salt with the lemon too.

Clean with a 10% bleach solution. Let air dry in the sun. Problem solved.

10% bleach and hot water will do the trick.
Re: Charcoal inside the enclosure?
Vinegar works wonders to neutralize odors..it's safe for your BP & the vinegar smell will dissipate after time. I use both vinegar & hydorgen peroxide to disinfect my tank.

Yeah, a 10% bleach solution is really the best way to sterilize--it kills the BAD bugs.
