    What to do??
Ok so My snake could stand to gain a little weight. She had 2 meals in 7 weeks and the rat pups I'm giving her are smaller than her thickest part (she is 7 months old sorry I don't have a weight on her) but she isn't big enough to move up to small rats yet. I was wondering which is better to try and give 2 rat pups in one feed or to feed every 5 days instead of 7. Or should I just keep feeding her 1 every 7 days and see if she fattens up with regular meals.

she is a little on the skinny side, since I got her she definitely lost a little weight probably due to stress and missing those meals. I just don't want to stress her out any more with too much food.

Do you have a scale to find out what 10%-15% of her weight is?

If you can do that, then just feed her whatever will fit into that range every 5 days until she starts refusing, then go every 7.

Yeah I'm confused on this too.. but I have a couple snakes a little younger than that I feed them two well sized mice every 3 days until they go onto rat pups and I continue that cycle till they refuse or only eat one and then switch them to 1 or 2 a week depending on what their appetite

    Re: What to do??
sorry, she was refusing meals and I was trying to feed her too often after a refusal which messed her up, I think we have that sorted and we have only just got her into the groove of eating again. I think I'll just get her to take a couple of regular meals and then maybe try to increase frequency or amount.

The problem is that the rat pups are on the small side for her and the small rats too big I just wanted to know how to go about transitioning her while she is between prey sizes. AND if I want her to gain weight is it better to give more food in one feeding or more frequent feedings?

    I hope that's more clear

well I would personally see what works best for her mine all have a different appetite so I feed them accordingly to what they want. I feed mine all rat pups but the shop I go to has a variety of rat pups all different sizes some as big as his smallest rats I just specify what I need though now I have a close relationship with the owner so now they just remember. So maybe you could ask and see what their rodent stock looks like.
