asf litter qestion winter vs spring/summer success
ok I come ot realize in my asf colonies. even with proper food. that my winter porduction number are almost none go verus my spring though fall. I onlyhad 3 littler between the 4 large tanks of asf and they kill off the litters during the winter months with in days. and that eve nni the reptile room. In the last month ( more less spring with the above freezing weather) they started up and i got at least 5 complete litters thriving out of the blue.

has anyone else similar pattern during the winter vs warmer weather months ??

I didn't get a lot of litters from my regular rats this winter. Though, I did switch to just hog feed. I have started to get a few litters since it's warmed up, but only litters of like 4-6. I think I'm going to add in some mazuri to their hog feed and see if that helps with bigger litters. But with my asfs, they have been been making lots of babies lately(only have had them for a few weeks though)

I been breeding asf for a few years. in my basment it gets down into the mid 50s and the mice do fine but the asf slow way down and some of them even stop. If I take a tank into my snakeroom or even upstairs when the temps are in the 70s the start back up.
