Just thought I'd show off again.

:P I'm all excited. First feed went perfectly, I went live, they were only in the box for like 5 minutes before she struck her first time and the mouse got away.... the mouse litteraly S*** itself, -.- theres a wet spot on the bottom of the box that wasn't there before, and its not in the area that she ate the mouse on.

She's been very active for having just feed, she didn't go back into her hide when I put her back in the tub, its been 5 hours and she is still out and slithering around the cage.

well congrats on the successful feeding. You know you can also feed inside the enclosure. They really do not become aggressive unless you smell like a mouse. To me it is easier and less stressful for the snake.

After you feed your snake, they kind of stay in "feeding mode" for a little while and will sometimes roam around looking for more food. The prey item you gave him looks to be a good size so I would not worry about the roaming.

I would however just feed the snake in the home enclosure.

Yeah, I feed mine in the enclosure and while he is more "alert" for a couple of days afterward he certainly doesn't now equate my hand with food.

That mouse was big enough then? I was wondered if she hadn't gotten enough and that's why she was roaming around, the lump also disapeared after about 10 minutes so I was afraid she regurgitated it but no dead mouse in the cage so I guess it smoothed out. the guy at petco kept trying to sell me pinky mice saying that for a 9 month ball a mouse was to big.

I'm planning on normally feeding her in the closure. But I didn't have time to spot check her cage this afternoon and since I don't want to touch her for a few days I figured it couldn't hurt to put the mouse in her cage cleaning box with her while I took care of the cage. It was really more of a convenience then anything.

Quick question, Is it 5 to 7 days between feedings or 7 to 10.

for a snake under a year, 5-7 is fine. For big adults 7-10 works. I just feed once a week. Its easier for me to keep track of the same day every week.

Pinky mice are always too small, even for a hatchling.

You could try bumping your snake up to two mice next feeding and see how she does with that :)

Maybe I will, If I bump it to two should I put both mice in the cage at the same time or just 1 at a time?

Offer one, wait until that one has been swallowed and the snake is moving around a bit and has realigned its jaws, then offer the second.
