Fire

I got pulled out of school early today because a brush fire was around a quarter of a mile away. (We live in Mcdowell county, Western North Carolina). We gathered all of our stuff, our animals (snake, guinea pig, cat), and anything else we needed overnight. Our house is surrounded by 3 feet of concrete, is built out of concrete, and has a metal roof. The house will probably be safe, but last I saw before we left, the fire was 20 ft. from the house.

Now, I have a snake, a small tub, some aspen, some water, and no heat source. What can I do for him until we get him back home???

For something temporary I've heard of people filling up a bottle of warm water, putting the bottle in a sock and put it in with the snake.

Hand warmers work too, but be careful with them. They can get pretty hot. I would probably put them under the tub with a towel or something in between.
