UPS shipment delay

I ordered some flexwatt which is supposed to arrive today. I checked on the tracking this morning and it said it was out for delivery, then I just checked again right now and it says "PKG DELAY-ADD'L SECURITY CHECK BY GOV'T OR OTHER AGENCY- BEYOND UPS CONTROL".

I wonder what that means. Has anyone else ever seen that?

Never seen that one before....

Id assume its some kind of quality control check within the company...

A truck got pulled over and failed an on site inspection.....

Who did you order from? I ordered mine from reptile basics and it arrived today.Of course without the extra x-ray searching :P

haha...I also ordered mine from reptile basics. It sucks I was really excited to start putting my incubator together. I just recieved my herpstat on saturday. Oh well I guess I have to wait one more day. lol

I have a friend that works for Fed-Ex he says messages like this on automated tracking can be from a couple reasons.

The first he says, and most likely, is that the truck was involved in a traffic stop of some kind and whenever a truck is pulled over (atleast a Fed-Ex truck he says) they are searched completely which means the driver wont be able to finish his run that day.

The second he sad could be just a misship and it never made the truck, but he say's that pretty rare.

Anyway I hope this helps. I can't say for sure, it's just what he told me.

You can always call UPS and tell them that you are the receiver on that tracking number, and you're trying to get more details. Or you can contact Rich at Reptile Basics and ask him to contact UPS for more details. :)

Its really no big deal at all..I had just never seen that kind of message and was curious if it was a common thing.

I am betting the truck got nailed for speeding or something ( I know the ones around here drive like they on a race track at times.) and he got a big delay.

at least it not saying something like your package was held for drugs inspection and to expect the fbi or th fta on your door in the morning :D

I only hope my delivery for anything not delayed cause I know it sucks to be waiting for something( if you took the day off ) and it gets delayed.

I think between the delays delivered to the worng address and packages getting stolen off the porch there needs to be a signed and receipt for any and all packages over a set weight, value, or size to make sure people actually get their stuff. I had a small box of flexwatt stolen off the porch while i was home ( in the restroom I guessing) and some kids stole it off thinking it was valueable ( to be pawn shopped I guess). imagane 30 + ft of flexwatt vanishing cause the guy didn't knock on the door. I now put a request that it has t obe sign for on most my orders and if it goingot be here on a set day ( by tracking each morning I check) i don't leave until I gotten it , I am now known as will be there and to make sure to knock every time now lol.. I also have the one guy ( fedex ) ask to see the snakes when he delivers them. which is funny cause he willstank back 20 ft away cause he a little scared but loves the morphs I was getting ( or I have to show him a pic of the kind they will have later on lol) I can only imagane what he say if he saw slim ( my 7+ft redtail boa lol)



Wait until you get a call from the cops for help at 3 am in the morning those are fun lol..

At least there isn't a live animal in the delayed package...
