Oh this game again is it.
So I did better this time...in a way.

I waited till I saw her out of her hide Curiously nuzzling the side where the mice were defrosting. Good sign I thought. Maybe this time will be a good time. I made sure the mice were defrosted and I heated them up with a blow dryer a few feet away until they were at or slightly higher than 1-4*

When I went back to the cage she was in her hide again. I said, thats okay, Coax her out gentle. So I danced the mouse on the tongs infront of each hide for a few minutes. Gave up and layed it atop a hide then did the same with the other mouse.

Maybe she'll eat them when I am gone like last time. But darn it I'd like her to take them from me so I can have peace of mind :P . Maybe the blow dryer scared her? Or my rendition of someone's in the kitchen with dinah?:P

I dunno what I am doing wrong here but she still doesn't trust me it seems. I was hoping to start handling her for the first time this week around wednesday.

Edit: the lights weren't on in the room she was in either.

Don't leave the mouse on top of the hide, leave it near the entrance if you can on the colder side. Some will never strike with people near, leave it in their all night.

Also, I don't get what you mean by "until they were at or slightly higher than 1-4*" 1-4 degrees?

    Good luck.:)

Give her time, I just went through 35 days of no eating for my baby albino female. She came from the breeder eating live very reliably. Live mice and I like to feed frozen thawed rats. I got her eating live rats pink/pups by scenting an hour before hand with mice bedding. Then I tried to go to F/T rats, with scenting and all. No eating for 35 days and then it dawned on me to go back to f/t mice. That was the ticket. I will stick with mice for at least 10 feedings and then switch to rats again. By then she will be used to taking food from me off tongs. My point is this go slow and try different things. If she came from a breeder find out what he was feeding. If she was on live keep her on that until she is TOTALLY settled, then fast her a week or so and then offer her normal fare ( mice or rats ) but F/T. Hope this helps. I know this seems long and drawn out but I have turned a few picky eaters around for myself and friends and I have just found make haste slowly is the order of the day. You are going to have her for a very long time, I hope, don't rush the handling and get her eating first, then you will be able to handle her for many years to come like 20 - 25 yrs. if not more. And I am VERY sorry to hear about Ting, he was a beautiful animal and actually has sparked an interest in them for me.

I left them on top of her hides last time and she took them, so I am being consistent there I suppose.

    it was a typo I meant 104*

She did take the f/t last time overnight. I won't worry about her not eating unless I see them there in the morning. I am more worried why she won't come out and strike at them. Selfishly because I really like seeing that and I hate the idea of feeding live. To much hassle if it can be avoided.

Yeah I feel really bad, poor guy I wish I had been able to do something but I now think he was sick when I got him. I still haven't heard back from the breeder yet.

Alright, she'll find it eventually if she did last time. Just be patient, they're known to be picky.;)
