    bci vs. bcc growth rate
I just picked up my pastel Colombian Red tail... so I believe that's what she is. I'll be honesty, I'm completely confused as to how to determine the deference. I'm really not sure what she is after doing a little research. My guess would be that she's just a plain red tail due to the fact that all her saddles aren't perfect (she's a sweetie and I still wouldn't trade her for aanything... her colors are absolutely amazing). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong with this method of determining what she truly is. MY real question is, is there a significant difference in growth rate between bci and bcc? I'm being told that she is about 1 1/2 years old. SHe is maybe a foot and a half long and pretty slender (not under fed at all, just slender). FRom what I have read, she seems a but small. Any input would be great. I will work on getting some pics posted if I can ever find my camera.

Baby boas are born at that size..... 18 inches. She must be bigger than that if shes 1 1/2 years old.

It all depends on the snake. Although BCC do get larger as a general rule, BG hasn't really noticed much of a difference in growth rates.

within the first year with BCC, ive noticed they do grow slower than BCI. This is because BCC cant handle larger meals on a weekly basis. They are more prone to regurgitation when feed too much too soon. So most usually feed BCCs smaller prey first year to get thier digestion on track before any major growth happens.

BCI are more tolerant to large meals than BCC, which leads to a slightly faster growth rate than BCC in the first year.
