One of the 1st balls we owned had troubles with shedding so we where spritzing the cage way to much (newbie mistake I know) he came up with pink/reddish areas on his ventral scales so I took him to the vet and this is what I was told to do and it is what I did for my roomates ball when he started showing signs as well.

I used 2% chlorhexidine gluconate solution (nice blue color available at most reptile shows) mixed with water until it was a sky blue color. I then swabbed the animals affected area 2x a day until the next shed.

The animal was kept in a clean cage with papertowels as substrate for the whole treatment. After he shed and there where no more reddish scales I discontinued treatment.

    Diluted Chlorhexidine

    Diluted Betadine

I always just soaked the animals in a tub of it once a day for at least 10 minutes, though more like 30.

A cream available from your vet know as Thermazene/Silvadene is a good product to pick up as well.
