Is his mouth still open?
Does his breathing look labored?
This is your coxi - right? What temps and humidity are you keeping him at?

Yes it's the coxi, 80-82 on the basking surface of the cage. 70 on the floor of the cool side.
He was in his hide so I couldn't tell, but I don't think so. I opened the cage to check temps and I didn't hear a wheeze.
I can't measure the humidty yet. I'll buy an couple accurite friday when I get payed. But he has some damp cypress, and a humid hide.
Re: Is this normal behavior?
Just went down and popped on the light. He was out of his hide, when I turned around his mouth was open again. No hissing no appearance of stuggled breathing that my untrained eye could discern. Just motionless, mouth open.
I got close enough to temp him at 70*
He has a hot spot he isn't using though thats still 80 even though it's night. I hope he's alright.
Re: Is this normal behavior?
How long have you had him? Check that you just got him - right?
I'd call Robyn in the morning and let him know what's going on.
If he's not too hot and you're sure on your temps, I'd take him to the vet and get him checked out.
Re: Is this normal behavior?
Just came in the mail today
I met the package at the door and put him right in his cage.
Re: Is this normal behavior?
Well I called andy over at pro exotics today He seems to think he's spooked and I kind of agree.
I saw him better this morning. His mouth was pink and healthy looking. and he rose up though not at me when I lightly touched him. He was out of his hide in the back corner of the cage.
The cage is abit to large for him granted but he had a wealth of hides.
So taking andy's advice I Covered the front glass. I covered it in paper towels and scotch tape.
I won't check on him again till tomorrow when I mist, Change water, and check temps. Then I'll replace the paper towel cover.
Hopefully by sunday he'll be acclimated enough to maybe eat. If at feeding time on sunday night he's still doing this I'll call andy back. Fingers crossed though he starts to feel as comfortable as my BP has over the past few days.
Re: Is this normal behavior?
Well..he no longer was opening his mouth today. his temp when I scanned him this morning was low. 66.4, but he did move slightly when I sprayed him.I peeked on him during the day and he has moved towards the hot spot which I liked.
Still I am worried, His temp was low. Still his mouth no longer is open. And hye does know where the hot spot is. I hope his substrate isn't to thick.
