    Dumeril or Colombian?
    Hello everyone!

Been a while since I've posted but I am on the market for a "larger" snake. I currently own a Corn, BP, and CRB, all of which are doing well (aka, feeding, shedding, pooping). While none of those will get "large" per se, I would like a bit bigger of a snake. I don't have tons of $$$ but I've got my search narrowed down to the common boa (Colombian) or the Dumerils boa. Both are similar in size and both seem to be praised for their temperment I like how the Colombian looks a bit better, however, I really like the tame snakes that you can just sit around and chill with if one of these are more "likely" to be that way. Since I'm Ok with 6-8ft which of these would you all recommend?

    Thanks!

    Nick

I have 3 columbian boas(BCI). Happy as can be with them. The normal color phase is fairly inexpensive and I have a side of me that really likes the normal color phase snakes, including normal colored ball pythons.
I think young boas including columbians and dumerils can be kinda flighty and crawl around alot. As they mature they'll chill more and become better shoulder pets, etc..
I say columbian, BUT, don't have any experience with dumerils. I do like the skin patterns on the dumerils!
I think the columbians have a better showing appeal because I like watching mine climb and hang out on branches in their cages. OK, this is making me want to build some new(bigger, taller) enclosures for my boas!

Haha, not big on a "show" snake appeal per se, although I don't mind watching them move around some but in general, they'll be in sterilite so not the best for display anyway. Thanks for the input! :)

I own both and I love the look and temperment of the Dumeril's Boas, they are a good size and don't get quite as big as a columbian
