I have decided on a Jungle Carpet Python!!

I will be buying one from Gold Coast Reptiles on June 19th. has anybody had any experience with Gold Coast? Also, how can i make sure that if i get a baby jungle that it won't brown out as it gets older?

I haven't purchased from those people, nor have I yet to own a JCP, but to answer your question, ask for photos of the parents. If the parents are bright specimens with high yellows and dark blacks, then your hatchling will most likely take its looks after the parents in adult hood.

Talk to the breeders. Read down on the morelia forum under "Other pythons" maybe make a thread there.

I picked up a granite female from craig. He's a really cool guy and very friendly and helpful I plan on doing business again with him.

If this is your first carpet python, I recommend specifically looking for one that has already gotten over "snappy baby" stage. Just ask the seller and they can give you an idea of each individual snake's disposition.

However if you're content with having a snappy baby for a few months, then just pick out the prettiest one and if it's snappy, it will grow out of it fast.

NEVER let it eat a mouse. 8 foot 10+lb snakes that are mousers are a huge pain and expensive to feed.
