uh.... you were supposed to give me a sign or two!!!

:banana::banana::banana: YAY!!! I HAVE EGGS!!! :banana::banana::banana:

Although its been a while since I've visited or even posted on the forum, my comeback is the best kind.

The reason: One of my normal gals paired with my pinstripe since last year was gravid and laid a clutch of 5 nice pearly whites. YAY!! I HAVE EGGS!!!

the problem: I never saw any of the darn signs.. no building, no glow, no ovi, no inverted laying.. nothing!! :( that was a disappointment for me.. I wanted to see all of that. Oh well, there is next year.

the panic: yay eggs.. wait?! what?! :O OH CRAP!!! I'm not prepared for this.. you bad girl hiding all those signs from me.

the quick fix: so I spent sunday scrambling to get a nest box ready for her until I could get a incubator set up. So far, she is doing really well taking care of her eggs. Coiled on them and hissing each time I peek in. That's a good mama.

The kick you while your down: :tears: my digital camera broke two weeks ago and the camera in my cell phone is not working either so I can't post pics yet. As soon as I can get hold of a camera I'll post pics.

the side bonus: my mom was up visiting this weekend and I am glad she was there to experience it as well. She was amazed (as was I) at how large the eggs are. She was afraid to touch the eggs because of how hissy mom was, but she could see the leathery texture.

the wait: so now, its a waiting game for them to hatch. I was amazed at the look and feel of the eggs when I transferred them to the nest box. rubbery/leathery feel yet tough too. so now I'm trying to set up an incubator, although I just may let her incubate them. But I promise, as soon as I get a camera pics shall be posted. :D

Thanx everyone. I'd be happy with one pinstripe Derek :D but here's to hoping for all 5 being pinstripes. Loonunit.. yes very sneaky. So far, she's doing her job so I'm confident in her, I'm more nervous about it not being warm enough or humid enough in her tub for now. :P
