Silly question..

I am an uber paranoid person. I follow the rules and read the instructions ;)

A heating pad says "ONLY" for use on glass.. but i see folks using them on plastic tubs.. is there a certain type of heating pad for tubs?

I have realized my obsession with balls is growing to more than i have room for with tanks.. hehehe.. and i will need to start using tubs. The idea of "breaking the rules" of the heating pad is something that concerns me. o.O

I have used a small pad for a 10 gal aquarium with a tub before. I would imagine most people that heat tubs use flexwatt though.

Your question is not silly...it's those horribly outdated instructions on the heat pads that are. :p

As long as you have a thermostat, which any reptile keeper should have, you can put those pads on any material. I've used them on plastic tubs (remember, plastic has a rather high melting point), wooden cages with tile or vinyl, glass...they are fine.

Oh, and your best bet when using one is to leave the paper ON! That way you can move the pad, remove it, use it over and over. Just tape them in place with aluminum foil tape. :D Works great. :gj:
