    A crazy idea Need Help
Hey I am working on a little project and was wondering where a person could find a list of every known morph and colour variety of reticulated pythons. I figure on sending a complete list to my Canadian government to confuse them with way too much information on identification of the species. Common name of morph followed by taxonomic name. Possible they might give up if i show them it is too difficult for their so called biologist or enforcement people to identify the snakes.
It worked here when they were going to regulate the Boa Constrictor I gave them five pages of common names explaining to the government biologist that not everyone knows the taxonomic name so the list I sent them had every possible boa combination known and some possible combinations . The old too much information ploy. See if we can make the government work for their paycheck and make it plain that this type of legislation is way too complicated to be enforced without a herpetologist going out to identify each animal after a complaint is made. I will do a list of burmese pythons as well.

    Hi,

Isn't there a risk they would just ban the entire family for the same reason?

There are many cities, municipalities and even provinces here that have ridiculous bans on reptiles.

In the city I live in, if a complaint is made a staff member of the local reptile zoo accompanies the by-law people to investigate the animals. They can identify anything.

I think you're wasting your time.

The reptile zoo here is quite well run, even with the TONS of confiscations, drop offs, and rescues they have to deal with.

They are successful breeders, educators and really care about all of their animals. The owner and his partner drove all the way across the country to British Colombia to rescue 20 caiman from euthanization. They now have the two largest spectacled caiman in the world. These guys are MONSTERS!
