First escape?
Hi guys. So I have one of the long 34qt sterelite enclosures that I tailored to suit my snake, twist. He shed last night, one whole piece which im thankful for, so that means the humidity is good. But somehow he managed to get out, crawl DOWN the glass table he's on, across the floor, up into my bed with me and lay on my chest for god knows how long. I admit when I woke up i felt him and it kind of startled me, but it was more of "HOW DID YOU GET OUT." I'm just wondering what everyone uses to secure their enclosures with if you're using the sterelite method of homing.

Sounds like a prank......
But consider yourself lucky that you did not have to rip the house apart just to find him 6 months later. Or worse, you could have rolled over him in your sleep.
There are lots of different sterelite containers. You'll have to show a picture maybe. In the mean time, put something heavy on top.

Re: First escape?
Welcome to the club my ball got out three times already and each time she coils up in one of my shoes. I dont use a tube setup but i use a glass enclosure and i got 8 clips 4 on both ends. so i thats how i keep my RTB and my BP in but my BP is the escape artist lol.:8:

Re: First escape?
I have a glass enclosure, but it has a mesh top. I tried the aluminum foil trick to seal in moisture, but once I found twist with a sunken in eye i said screw this and bought him a tub. Although I admit im not the best keeper, as I've had him for almost a month and I still dont have any thermometers or a hygrometer, cause of money issues, he's still given a UTH and a CHE.
I'll post pictures in literally a minute, I just uploaded them all to facebook.

Re: First escape?
Found out how he was getting out. Even though the metal grating is ziptied down 4x there was enough space for him to crawl out of. I ended up adding 8 more zipties in a complete circle around the grate

I was just about to tell you that he most likely got out through the mesh thing.
If you are up for getting another lid, you can just solder or drill holes in the side of the tub. Then there would be no way that he could get out. The bungee cords are probably over kill for a snake that small...
