What did I get myself into lol

Ok so i go down to prehistoric pets today to get my weekly feeders and *fingers crossed* pic up a burm. I had a good chunk of money and was looking for something albino, labyrinth, green, pretty normal, didnt matter i wasnt picky i just wanted something nice to look at. My buddy Corey who works there is eggin me on trying to get me to pick up an albino lab but then i spotted this really really pretty normal and he looked at me and said well wait lemme grab something and walks into the office and pulls out an AFrock. Im sitting there like EFF no i am not dealing with a rock python, i enjoy everything being intact and just no, no rocks for me. He casually goes, nope this one is different, pulls it out and strokes it from nose to tail, grabs its head, yada yada, the is tamer than my BP. no hissing, nor coiling up, no lunging, NOTHING! best yet, 1/2 price of the burm i was going to get...

so needless to say i am now the proud owner of a FRIENDLY patterened AFROCK. I never thought i would see the day. Anyways, my camera is charging, pictures will be up soon :)

I've known quite a few young African Rocks who turned really nasty after a while. You might also want to prepare yourself for a nice sized enclosure. They get big, pretty fast.

if he turns nasty he turns nasty, wont be the first mean snake ive had to deal with. Ive got an old cage from a retic i had that held a 12' tic that should suit him just nicely

its less than a year, right around 4'

I would not support those guys. Thay are a joke. Congrats on your pick up. Be sure to quarantine!;)

yeah, I decided to start breeding rats after I got tired of seeing how nasty some of the animals look. It's worse than petsmart/petco in the BP enclosures--tons in one tank, stuck shed, no hide whatsoever, etc.

Anyway, definitely QT your new guy, and SHOW US SOME PICS!! The owner has some great stock in back, it's a shame the rest of the store isn't the same way.

Thankfully, they didnt get to have it for more than an hour, it came from one of my friends personal breeder friensd who had to cut back and usually REFUSES to sell to them but this was some kind of personal issue and he had to cut back a ton of his stock. My friend had already called other people to come get it cuz he didnt want it to go into their stock
