Irish Round Tower.

This is a replica Irish Tower built in memory of the man who built Larne Harbour and established the first steam boats between Larne and Scotland, James Chaine MP. He was also responsible for bringing a lot of trade ships from America to Larne Harbour This is the last thing you see as you leave Larne Harbour and the first thing you see as you approach the port.

It is Jim. It is now owned and maintained by Commissioners of Irish Lights.

It wasn't initially built as a lighthouse. It is a replica Irish Round Tower built in memory of the man who founded the harbour. This will help explain.
