    Help with switching to rats
Hi guys so im having trouble with switching my normal girl to rats. when i first got her last year she was feeding on mice, live, p/k, and f/t it didn't matter. i gave her a p/k rat about a month before she went off feed for the winter and she ate it no problem no questions asked. but then the month leading up to her going off feed for the winter she would not even look at another rat. which i tried for a few weeks but no takes. but she ended up eating a couple of mice after not eating for three weeks while trying on the rats. she then didn't eat for about 6 wks over the winter which i know is normal.

then i gave her a mouse she took it and was back to eating, now the last month and a half i've been trying to get her to take a rat again but she won't but she will eat mice. so i don't know whats up with her. she ate that one rat but now won't even look at another one. and she didn't get bit by the rat cause it was p/k and she ate it no prob.

so im planning over the next couple of weeks offering her rat babies with fur, they are bout the size of an adult mouse and playing tough love with her. if she doesn't take it one week, wait again and offer her a rat again the following week to see if she eventually gets hungry enough to eat one.

so thats the background info etc so im just wondering if anyone can give me advice on switching her to rats cause mice are getting to small for her now and id like to switch to rats. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Try some mouse bedding and pre-scent the rat in the mouse bedding, in a paper bag for awhile, then re-heat it with a blow dryer and offer it.
