My new girl

so the bf and i went out to our local reptile store to get some feeders and such... and came out with this pretty little girl:

im pretty sure shes just a normal RTB, but her tail is just gorgeous!!
shes really tiny- looks like she was just born-
the guy says that shes eating crawler mice- anyone know what a good feeding schedule would be for something that small?

Sometimes when you look at a bp or a boa, or some snakes there head just looks like a girl?! Is this making sense? Well this one looks like a beauty:)

For the first year you can feed about every 7-8 days. After that every 10 days will be fine. Once they get into the XL or Jumbo size prey feed about every 10-14 days, depending on the size and type of prey

Very pretty little boa! I feed my red tail boas one appropriately sized rodent once a week, and they are growing very well. I am fairly new to boas myself, but I was told by a boa breeder that weekly feeding is ideal for healthy growth, and that feeding them more often than that can really shorten their life span. The nice thing about red tail boas is that they should take frozen / thawed food really young and are much easier to switch over than ball pythons. One of mine requires about 30 seconds of tong teasing to get him to take his F/T rat, and the other just eats hers off of a plate. Good luck! :)

thanks :D and wow, you're lucky. I got a baby boa in December from a breeder on fauna, and she had told me that she had just switched him and the ball python we got with him, to f/t, so we thought, 'awesome makes life easier...' well the baby boa refuses f/t... he ate one for us and regurged it, and won't even strike a f/t mouse... at this point im feeding him live because i just want him to start eating consistently- which he doesn't- he will at the most eat every other week. He's a fiesty little guy, but deff not an agressive eater... (yet?)
(btw, im in no way blaming the breeder for anything... i think hes just a bit stubborn- the ball that we got from her eats amazing well... has never refused a meal, and has a complete different personality from the boa)
