What do I look for in QT?
I have 3 bps in qt right now. Two of them were exhibiting signs of illness when I took them in. The other, which came from a separate source and is being quarantined separately as well, had very minimal signs of any problems and was a rescue by the people I picked it up from. It had already been to a vet and was 100% healthy at that time, which was probably a month before I got it.
I have questions:
1. What am I looking for with qt? I feel like I know my bps, but how confident can I be that I am not missing something?
The first two exhibited signs of RI when I got them, but since husbandry has been corrected, those signs have disappeared completely. I read tons, and learned that most RI are simple problems with husbandry and will disappear with correction.
2. Without a vet visit, can I be confident they are ok now?
3. If I have disinfected tubs, dishes, hides, etc that they have been in with a bleach solution can I feel safe using that tub again for another snake? (I am just nervous).
Re: What do I look for in QT?
If the signs are for RI then take to a vet in a couple weeks. Make sure you are changing the water daily with new or disinfectant bowl9easy way to re-infected them selves) . Best for them to be on newspaper or and substance that can be change every couple days or so. Other than that just watch and make sure you use good practices when handling them and your other collection. Always go in that room last and possibly use that room last .. also, with a change of clothes.:colbert2:
