My Pastel girl
Hello! Just thought I'd show one of my snakes off a bit. She's a Pastel 66% Het. Pied. She hasn't shed in a long while, but you can get a general feel for how she looks (I think she's schmexy). I'm excited about trying to prove her out next season--though a small piece of me is hoping that I might be able to squeeze in some breeding late this season. Anywho thanks for looking, it's definitely appreciated!

Re: My Pastel girl
Thank you guys! She came from Texas Reptile Breeders before they got out of the business--both her and her son were really nice, and I couldn't pass up the chance to prove the hets--the prospect is so exciting, haha.
Cheers

She wasn't doing so hot eating-wise when I got her. I ended up contacting the breeder and altering my husbandry to where she was at before the move, and it still didn't happen for me. It ended up being that she'll only take live mice. I'm thinking it's a winter trend (kind of her version of going off feed), because the breeders mentioned that she tends to do this during the cooler months. Best of luck with your Pastel though! Once you get them going, they don't look back!
Cheers,

Hi,
She looks really nice - the blushing on her back and the faded head are really hot. :)
I hope both her and her son prove out for you and you hit the jackpot. :gj:

i actually got my pastel girl from a guy who got her from a guy, lol! so i have no idea where she actually came from. but she is VERY picky with eating, she will ONLY eat LIVE ASF's. i have tried absolutely everything. feeding in her viv, feeding in a bare feeding tub, i even tried "braining" a f/t adult rat...and got BRAINS on my face!!! oh my GOD i almost threw up all over the place. i've tried soaking them in chicken broth, scenting with tuna juice, feeding live and then f/t directly after, and nothing.
she has always been our shyest snake. she will sit in a ball for over half an hour before poking her head out. so what i do now is place her in my lap while i'm working on my computer, wait til she starts slithering around, and then put her in her feeding tub with a live ASF rat. i then cover her and the tub with a blanket, just enough so that she feels secure, but also so that i can supervise the rat. and even then that doesn't always work.
she has only gained about 300grams in the year i've had her, putting her at around 700grams. i'm hoping within the next 2 years she'll be ready to go, i have a very handsome male pastel waiting very patiently for her!
