wow those are just amazing. They are so beautiful...I love looking at them. I have to say though hots scare the bejezus out of me...especially the rattlers...living out in the desert in AZ...we have had so many close calls and they really are hard to see. They have amazing camo. I am always afraid that my son is going to fall on one or come across one and not realize it. funny coming from a girl that loves snakes huh...lol

    beautiful animals :)
I've loved the eyelash vipers since the moment I laid eyes on them. What are they like under your care? Like how they behave, attitude, like to hide or hang out in the trees, eat willingly...

They are not difficult to care for. Their temps need to be room temp, nothing above low 80s and above the low to mid 70s. Babies can be sometimes difficult to get feeding. But with patience they do well once they figure it out. Most breeders will not sell babies till they are eating whole pinkies. As babies they eat pinky parts. They lay in the branches about as much as they lay on the ground. They are very non-aggressive, but occasionaly you will get one that strikes alot. Mine usually dont move when I open their cage. It sometimes can be a trick just to get a strike during feeding. Usually they just twitch their heads. But just because they are more relaxed then other species you have still treat them like a loaded gun, ready to go off at any moment. All in all they are a very good species for a rookie hot keeper. There are some arboreal species that strike at anything.

Elizabeth, I would love to come get all the R/S on your place in AZ. Some of my favorite species are in AZ. In AZ you have to be a resident of the state to collect anything I believe. Some of my favorite Banded Rock R/S are in AZ.

Thanks for the info MK. An eyelash viper may be my first venomous snake when I'm ready for one. I'm already thinking ahead about how I would ensure to care for them without making a mistake. ;)
