Best Point and Shoot camera for BP pics??
Hey so I was curious what your guys' opinions are on which point and shoot camera is the best for taking pics of our lil slithery friends??
I can't afford a SLR camera at the moment and was hoping to not spend more than $200 or so.
If you guys could post what model you have/like and maybe a couple examples of pics you've taken, I would GREATLY appreciate it!!
Thanks!!
Re: Best Point and Shoot camera for BP pics??
I am happy with my Canon Powershot A610 and I have a newer version the SD1100IS. I use them mainly for herping, but are easy to use and pretty good quality. Obviously not the same as a ''pro'' camera.

I like the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3. It has the world famous Leica lens.
Good luck with your decision

I use Canon A570IS (bought it last year) and it's cheap and has nice color.

i have a D5000 Nikon and it does the job extremely well but its more of a "pro" if your interested in that kind of thing.
Re: Best Point and Shoot camera for BP pics??
I use a Canon EOS 40D for proper PRO shots. But for quick pictures, i use a refurbished Kodak M 1093 IS. As it a refurbish one, i got it real cheap. I brought it because of the HD videos it can capture but didnt realize that the pictures it takes are awesome as well.
Re: Best Point and Shoot camera for BP pics??
There are a wide variety of options out there.
Two best pieces of advice...
Know the return policy. If you don't like the performance of the camera then you don't want to be stuck with it.
Learn how to use it. If you have NO knowledge of how to use a camera, even a high quality DSLR will likely not give you the results you want. So be sure to play with it extensively and if you're lacking in the knowledge area, maybe ask a friend or family member who knows a bit to help out. I've had friends on the verge of returning cameras that I knew were great until I showed them the marvels of what removing them from "auto mode" could do, heh.
For point and shoot brands, I am partial to Canon, Sony and certain Fuji models. I read a lot of good stuff about Panasonics, but I've never been able to achieve anything great with their products, but that's probably just me.
Currently I use a 3 or 4 year old Canon SD800IS. Works alright but I definitely would like something better. Problem is this one is still working just fine so I can't justify the expenditure.

Buy a good kodak (or what ever you like) off of ebay.
