how do ball pythons get belly rot?

any way to know what it is im still a newby

may be the cage is not clean.

I used to clean up the cage everytime they poo and pee ... so 3x a week is a minimum (I also keep the cage dry and change the paper almost everyday)

If the cage is not clean or very damp/wet. If you keep your enclosure clean you should never have to deal with scale rot.

Wet environment + dirty environment

Could even be a burn
