    may be the cage is not clean.

    I used to clean up the cage everytime they poo and pee ... so 3x a week is a minimum (I also keep the cage dry and change the paper almost everyday)

    If the cage is not clean or very damp/wet. If you keep your enclosure clean you should never have to deal with scale rot.

    no mine doesnt have scale rot but was curious to know what it was and the conditions it developes under.
