Male BP behavior question.
I've had him for a couple weeks now, hes very mild mannered, doesnt even seem head shy at all.
he seems to enjoy coming out of his tub for handling, will chill around my shoulders for abit and actually protests going back in his tub by clinging or heading up the sides. Where my curiosity comes in, is he just seems to be more clingy than any other BP Ive owned. He has no desire to wander off me and would be content to nest through my hair and on my head all day if I let him. Seeing as Ive only had him for a few weeks Ive come to wonder if perhaps he can smell female BP on me? and perhaps thats why he gets so excitable?
He nearly started thrashing this last time I pulled him out of my hair to put him away.
Husbandry should be accurate. UTH, with hot side kept around 90, and hooked to a thermostat. clean water, a hide, comic book paper for substrate so he has reading material.
I know theres BPs who enjoy being held, but he seems alittle extreme to me. Just want to see what others might have to say. :).
Re: Male BP behavior question.
Having a female in the area could be it. :) Maybe he thinks you are his girlfriend.
All snakes are different though. My males are actually kind of mean :( where as my females are always calm with handling. Maybe the males are just sad because they can smell their future girlfriends but can't...you know..

Hes at that age, if thats the case looks like he should be quite the breeder. lol.
I spose I can live with the confusion as long as he doesnt get too fresh.
