    after eating
    hello i was just wondering how long it takes after a ball python feeds for it to poop. she eats once a week and is around 3/4 year old. and how long after she finishes eating should you handel it?

    It could be days until she poops, mine usually takes 5 to 6 days.

    I usually wait AT LEAST 24 hours until I handle mine after a feed. It's fine to move around a bit with the enclosure (changing water, misting if necessary) is fine, but I won't do more than that.

    Mine usually takes a few weeks to poop. You should also wait 2 days before handling.

    I don't handle mine for 48 hours after they eat. They poop when they want to poop. Pretty unpredictable until you notice a pattern.

    Much like the time it takes them to shed, their movements can be an individual variation. As long as they are pooping, than you're good. If you think it has been a long time than handling them and gently massaging down their bodies might help things along. Usually they won't need that. Also, when they shed they also usually poop, due to all the twisting and turning.

    It is recommended that you wait 48 hours after feeding. That is generally how long it takes to digest the food. Handling too soon can risk regurgitation.
