Are rainbow boas good pets? How long does it take for them to reach their full size?

I think they are Awesome.. A bit tempermental and a little difficult to care for for a beginner but it all boils down to the person and their knowlege of the animal they want.

I have 3 rainbows and they are tame as puppies (most of the time :D)
You just need to meet their humidity and temp requirements and IMO they are great snakes to have.

The ones I've come across aren't the nicest, but I haven't really come across many of them besides the ones at the reptile sanctuary. The BRBs there are mean, they snap, and they bite (they are still babies). We have a baby Columbian but he's snappy, and so are some of the adults (besides only one of them that I handled).

You can find pretty docile ones I'm sure, and regular handling would be necessary. They definitely aren't for beginners because of their enclosure requirements (humidity is the biggy) but they do make awesome pets.

JCPs aren't bad either. They are pretty easy to care for as well. Keep in mind that most younger specimens are sort of nippy but there are also ones that are pretty puppy dog tame. You should have to work with them. But for a lot of them, over time as they grow they will get out of their nippy stage and become pretty docile. I plan on acquiring a JCP sometime this year as well, or a Jag. I would love to see photos of the JCP you get.:D
