    Gray-banded King
Hi! I'm going to be picking up an adult female gray-banded king snake from a friend of a friend. She just doesn't have time or room for her right now. I'm having a bit of trouble finding information on them. Should I keep her like I do my corn (temps, substrate, etc.)? Also, the girl told me that she sometimes feeds her fuzzies but that she prefers pinkies. Now I was told the snake is about 3ft long. Is it me or is this kinda strange? I feed my adult corn two small mice every 10 days. Quite a difference for snakes roughly the same size. Thanks!

Thanks! That's what I figured :) What do you feed your adults? The girl told me she feeds her two fuzzies every 7-10 days. But this girl is pretty girthy. I don't see a fuzzy leaving anything even close to a lump in her tummy. But she seems healthy. So I'm not sure what to do.

Well my little guy who is under a foot eats a full grown mouse once a week and my adult eats a small rat. So Basically I think the guy needs a huge upgrade in food size

That's what I was thinking. I'll see if she'll take a few small mice. When I go to the NY expo in a few weeks, I'll see if I can pick up some more for her. Thanks!

I think it definitely depends on how big they get and what they'd naturally eat. I've got a California King Snake, and he can easily eat an adult mouse, but I more often feed him smaller fuzzies or hoppers, two or three at a time. I've read they're lizard eaters, so they have an easier time digesting several smaller meals than they do larger ones. Not sure if it's true or not, but he does seem more active and appreciative of the smaller meals. Good luck! :)

Well she took 2 small mice last night. Ate them in record time too  Hopefully she keeps them down. My corn is a bit longer than her but not as girthy and he takes two small mice every 10 days so I'm thinking she should be fine. Fingers crossed :)
