    Howdy do?
    Hello all!!
I have been snooping around on a few topics here so I figure its only right that I be cordial and intro myself...(thats the first time that I have used the word cordial in 2010...dont even know if its in the right context...but hey, Im trying to impress here...LOL:D!!)...anyhow, I am orginally from Ohio but since joining the Marine Corps...I have lived in California and now I am in Arizona. While in Cali, I owned a RTB for approx 9 years and a Western Diamondback Rattler that I caught on my back patio. I housed them seperatly and it was very interesting at feeding time to watch...my kids I and I learned alot by watching!! Eventually the RTB passed away while I was in Kuwait and the Rattler was turned loose back to its home when I got ordered to Az.

Now...years later, I am interested in setting things up for a BP or two (maybe). Things are a bit different though for me in Az. My garage will be my new snake/work out room and I am more worried about keeping the room cool than I am about heating. Temps normally get in the 100's out there in the summer time...so I gotta figure a way to keep things cooler. Right now, the only thing that I can think to do is install a portable A/C unit. If that works...then I will go ahead with plans to build a terrarium and then go BP shopping!

Right now I am deployed so I am brainstorming a bunch of ideas...I look forward to the education here!!

Hello. Glad to see you could make it. We've been expecting you for some time now.

I don't believe you will want to spend the money to cool the garage unless it's insulated. That could get expensive. A basement or spare room would be a much better choice.

    Good Luck!

PS Thank you for serving our country and keeping us all safe.

    :welcome: to the forum.

Something else to consider besides the temps will be the humidity. Housing them in a garage will be a major battle keeping the humidity up.

    Where are you deployed to?
