wood mites

    Has anybody here had a problem with wood mites using aspen bedding. I use aspen for my snakes and my feeders so i just wanted to know.

    I've never heard of anyone having an issue, but I can't say you can't.

    Me neither i went to petco.com to order some more bedding and you can leave comments on the products they sale and sombody wrote that they had got wood mites from aspen. I think its BS forreal i just wanted to be sure.

    It's not "BS". A lot of Aspen has them and it's a Royal pain in BG's perfect Glutes.:rage::rage:

    A lot of wood chips have wood mites in them. They're almost impossible to avoid, all I can tell you is that they die pretty darn quickly away from their colony and they don't pose a threat to your snake. If you're concerned, just buy the substrate about a week or so before you need it, and all the mites will die off.
