    Soaking too much?
Someone said if my BP was soaking too much it could be a sign of a problem. He soaks alot during the day but usually he comes out a couple times for a few minutes. most of the time though at night he is active around the cage or stays in one of his hides and does not go in the water at night. Any ideas?

Check your temperature and check for mites. Those are the two things I would check first.

Well it might be 1 of 3 things. What are your temps? If its higher then 90 he will go in the water to cool off.Or it could be mites. They do this to drown the little snotts.Or they are getting ready to shed.

He just finished a shed about a week ago, he doesn't have mites and the temp usually stays right around 80 degrees F.

does he have any stuck shed, like on the tip of his tail or belly? are his hides a good fit for him? he may feel more secure in the water bowl than his hide. you should give him a real good inspection cuz mites r sneaky lil terds, or it may be something else annoying him

What do you mean 80. Does he have a cool side of 80 and warm side of 90.
